The Boys' Baptism

The boys were baptized on January 31st. John's Godparents are Nathan and Mary and Gavin's Godparents are Beau and Mo. We asked for the baptism to be done on a Saturday in the middle of the day so everyone had plenty of time to travel. We also asked for the big baptismal font, that is normally not used, to be used since the normal one used is for infants and it would have been difficult to lift the boys. They were so excited that they would get to go "swimming." Everyone in our immediate family was able to attend except Katie and Addy. It was a great day and then we went to mass Saturday night and our priest announced the boys were baptized and everyone clapped. They were both very excited for that.

Everybody checking out where the boys would go "swimming"

It is impressive no one fell in! (from left to right Anna, Ainsley, JJ, Derek, Lola)

Gavin and Graham checking out the water.

Getting started.

Waiting to be given the okay to get in.

Izzy is pretty comfortable. (JJ and Derek are watching too!)

John is holding his breath!

Gavin was hoping to splash!

After they were baptized we changed them into their white clothes. They loved their candles.

Pacers

The Pacers donated $10,000 to the school that is attached to my office. There was a big ribbon cutting ceremony and I took the boys. It was a really awesome experience.  The Pacers donated tons of workout equipment,  appliances for our independent living lab (a mock apartment to help kids learn to live independently), compters, tablets, games, books and so much more.  The kids at the school have some awesome new stuff and it was really cool meeting some Pacers players. They also passed out t-shirts and sweat bands. John got a t-shirt and a sweat band and Gavin got a sweat band! The boys also got to have their picture taken with two of the Pacemates (cheerleaders). The Pacer players were George Hill and Chris Copeland.

Monster Jam

We decided to take the boys to Monster Jam. We didn't tell them they only knew we were meeting the Kiefer family (my best friend, Sarah and her family). The boys had a blast. The third boy in the pictures is Grayson (Sarah's son).

100th day of Bugs!

On Friday 1/16, John's class celebrated their 100th day of school. They had to go to school dressed as a 100 year old person and then transform themselves into into a 100th day hero with a cape that had to have 100 of something attached. John chose to have 100 bugs attached! John had a walker and chattering teeth as an old man!
